Alcoholics Anonymous IS NOT THE SAME AS CHRISTIAN!!

Answering the Booze Sect of Christianity

You say Christianity and AA is the same thing, but that is not true! You are scaring away sick people needing help by calling AA a religion and possibly killing them. You don’t know what you’re talking about!! AA is a spiritual program that has nothing to do with any Christian church. ~Email from 12 Stepper

Dear 12 Stepper/Christian,
The only person dumber than a Christian is the 12 Stepping Alcoholics Anonymous believer reborn in a “program of recovery” rooted in Christianity. In a Christian-dominated society filled with different sects, the rise of a c̶h̶u̶r̶c̶h̶ (I mean spiritual program) based on a mysterious booze disease should surprise no one. The dumbassery needed to believe a guy nailed to a cross, an act allowed by his father (God), somehow saves humanity is the same stupidity required to believe uncontrolled drinking results from a physical, mental, and spiritual disease, only a “higher power” (God) can cure.

Coincidentally, Christianity’s means of salvation, turning your will and life over to Jesus Christ, is the same means Twelve Steppers use to find their salvation from booze — just less the Jesus. I’m not making this up! AA professes this wisdom right in their literature:

Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book (p. 59). Kindle Edition.

Remember that we deal with alcohol–cunning, baffling, powerful! Without help it is too much for us. But there is One who has all power–that One is God. Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book (p. 54). Kindle Edition.

Yes, there is no salvation for the person suffering from alcoholism except God!

The alcoholic at certain times has no effective mental defense against the first drink. Except in a few cases, neither he nor any other human being can provide such a defense. His defense must come from a Higher Power. Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book (p. 45). Kindle Edition.

Doomed is the alcoholic without God, much the way everyone without Jesus is doomed! That is why God sent Jesus to die and shed blood for the sinners, such that we can now obtain God’s grace through faith in His son. So too, has the Lord given us the answer to the booze affliction caused by, according to AA, character defects that include “selfishness, conceit, jealousy, carelessness, intolerance, ill-temper, sarcasm, resentments,” and a mysterious allergy-like disease. (Anything but alcohol itself!) The Lord’s cure is the AA Twelve Stepper who hung on the cross of whiskey, wore the crown of vodka thorns, and suffered the nails of cold draft beer driven into his hands!

But the ex-problem drinker who has found this solution, who is properly armed with facts about himself, can generally win the entire confidence of another alcoholic in a few hours. Until such an understanding is reached, little or nothing can be accomplished. Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book (p. 30). Kindle Edition.

Like Jesus wandering the countryside bringing the good news to humanity, the Twelve Stepper, armed with his Big Book, embarks on a journey to save the boozehounds. Instead of turning water to wine, he anoints the alcoholic crippled by drink with the knowledge of recovery, and he walks again in grace, carrying the word to other drunks and so on and so on. Daily in AA meetings held in Christian church basements across the USA, you find these miracles!

Clearly, AA and Christianity share no similarity, such as both being horseshit that doesn’t work. Clearly, there are no ties between AA and Christianity, no derivative story, and for certain, no savior archetype. Clearly, you, the Twelve Stepping Savior, hold the salvation for freeing boozers everywhere from the chains of drunkenness.

Sadly, Twelve Stepper, you have no idea how Christian you are.

Thank you, and may your higher power (😉 God) bless you!🍷 ✝️
